2008 | 15.-17.02.08 Hamburg

The Hanseatic City of Hamburg provided a condign maritime setting for this year's motto Seafaring as Reflection of the History of Mankind, which encompassed themes ranging from ship-models and reconstructions, personal belongings in shipwrecks as well as the ratification process of the 'UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage'. In collaboration with the Archaeology Department of the University of Hamburg, the Peter Tamm sen. Foundation and the 'Arbeitskreis für Historischen Schiffbau e.V.' (Workgroup for Historic Shipbuilding) this 13th DEGUWA annual conference was held in the Elbe-metropolis.
