Other expeditions
Apart from projects organised or co-organised by the DEGUWA, some DEGUWA members take part in projects of other organisations. In the following section they report about their experiences.
Institute for Nautical Archaeology (INA)
The US-American Institute for Nautical Archaeology is worldwide one of the leading research institutes for nautical archaeology. It is based at the Texas A&M University to which also the Nautical Archaeology Program (NAP) for higher education is affiliated. INA's speciality lies in a particularistic research approach: Particularly shipwrecks, which are deemed especially representative for a period are chosen for further investigation. The INA conducted excavations and research on such well-known shipwrecks like Uluburun, Gelidonya and Kyrenia.

Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS)
The Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS) is a British charitable organisation. Its foundation in the early 1980's stems from the necessity to introduce dive-experienced assistants in underwater archaeological techniques during the excavation of MARY ROSE. Today the NAS is a vibrant organisation with encompasses laymen and experts and which initiates outreach work of significant importance.
